Hanif Encourages At Risk Youth to Eschew Gang Violence

Through an At Risk Youth mentoring program operated out of Golden Grove prison, Hanif as well as Malik and Abdul, traveled outside of the prison to encourage middle school aged youth to avoid engaging in violence.

Hanif was interviewed about the anti-violence message he embraces. He speaks of his generation’s mindset that led to issues although violence against young people to steal from them seems to have increased over the years in his views. He states, “In a nutshell one of the greatest things I’ve learned is to not see the word in colors– black and white, red and blue. That’s a pitfall right there.”
